SUMMER READING THERAPY (FAQ)
WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE FOR SUMMER READING THERAPY?
The schedule is up to you! The Summer Reading Therapy schedule is entirely flexible to accommodate your preferences and summer plans. We offer individualized packages that span 4-10 weeks, tailored to fit your specific schedule. Our private one-on-one sessions with trained literacy specialists are conducted for 2 hours each day, 2 or 4 days a week, from Monday to Thursday (with the possibility of sessions on Tuesday to Friday during weeks with holidays). The session times are available between 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Upon registration, you will have the freedom to choose the weeks that best suit your availability, and you can also select the preferred time of day for each week. The weeks need not be consecutive, giving you the flexibility to plan around vacations or other commitments seamlessly.
WHAT IS THE IHL RECOMMENDATION FOR THE NUMBER OF HOURS I SHOULD SIGN UP FOR THIS SUMMER?
Great question! Our Summer Reading Academy is designed to build upon the multisensory instruction your child has been receiving throughout the year, making it both impactful and intensive. To prevent any learning loss during the summer break and ensure continuous progress, I Heart Learning highly recommends enrolling your child for a minimum of THIRTY-TWO (32) hours during the summer semester. This commitment will help maximize the benefits of the program and ensure your child's academic growth remains on track.
WE PLAN TO BE OUT OF TOWN A LOT THIS SUMMER. ARE THERE ANY OPTIONS FOR US?
Absolutely! We offer distance learning via our virtual classroom so our students can stay connected with their teachers even when they are traveling. Customized learning, with a customized schedule!
MY child is not a current student, BUT CAN we START READING THERAPY?
Yes! We would love to have you join us! All new students for Reading Therapy must complete an initial skills assessment. You can sign up for one here for Spring 2023 (and will be placed on a waitlist until there is a spot available).
After the skills assessment, we will craft an individualized learning plan for your student. Reading Therapy is an intensive remediation program and in order to see optimum results, students need to be enrolled in reading therapy for a minimum of 120 hours, therefore we require at least a 1-year commitment from the time of enrollment. It takes time and consistency to delve deep into the content and provide enough practice to “re-wire” the brain. We may begin a new reading therapy student in the Summer, but their enrollment must continue through the Fall and Spring semesters. All Summer Reading Therapy students must be enrolled in ‘22-’23 school year or ‘23-’24 school year sessions. WILL MY CHILD HAVE THE SAME TEACHER?
While we always try our best to keep our students with the same teacher they have during the school year, due to the variable schedules of our teachers in the summer, your child’s teacher may not be available. However, please rest assured that your child’s individualized instructional plan will still be implemented with the same fidelity and LOVE no matter who the teacher is. ALL of our teachers are truly the BEST!!
CAN YOU TELL ME MORE ABOUT PRICING AND RATES?
We understand the importance of budgeting and strive to maintain transparency in our payment structure at I Heart Learning. Our pricing and rates are designed to be fair and accommodating for our families.
When you register for a specific schedule for our programs, you will only be charged for the selected duration. The total tuition fees for the chosen schedule will be calculated and divided evenly into monthly payments. This approach aims to help our families manage their payments more conveniently, making it easier to plan and budget for your child's educational journey with us.
